On the practice days (Wednesdays) players in each age group will train together academy style in a large group, focusing on skill development through drills and fun training games. On Saturdays we will play games, and players will be divided into set teams that will stay together throughout the season and be coached on game days by parent volunteers. The game model (4v4/5v5/6v6/7v7, etc.) will be determined in part by the number of registrants in each group.
The regular schedule for this spring is as follows:
Wednesdays:
PreK-Kindergarten - 5:30-6:15pm
1st-2nd Grade - 6:30-7:15pm
3rd-8th Grade - 7:30-8:15pm
Saturdays:
PreK + Kindergarten - 9:00-9:50am
1st + 2nd Grade - 10-10:50am
3rd-8th Grade - 11-11:50am
In-House practices will begin the week after spring break, on Wednesday April 19th, and the first game date will be on Saturday April 22nd. The last game date will be Saturday June 3rd. Game schedules and field assignments will be emailed out and posted on the website closer to the start of the season. All games and practices will be at the Barton-Bradley fields.
After the registration period ends (April 7th) the process to assign players to teams will begin. We need to have a volunteer parent coach for each team, so please email me at [email protected] if you are willing and able to help.
Having enough coaches is imperative to ensure we can keep team sizes appropriate. Previous soccer or coaching experience is not required, just a positive attitude! Coaches help facilitate substitutions, encourage their team, and help keep the game flowing. Many parents who have volunteered previously have shared that it was a great experience and a good way to connect with your sons and/or daughters.
If you need a new reversible In-House jersey they will be available for purchase at the first practice and first game date for $25. The reversible In-House jersey is required for every game, as are shin guards and a soccer ball. Cleats are strongly recommended.
